Davids Daily Dose - Friday March 25th

Still believe our society isn't corrupt? All this talk of oligarchy and the rich running everything is so much nonsense?

Read this little gem - GE, one of the most successful corporations on the planet does not pay a penny in US taxes. They have lobbied and weaseled tax exemptions and loopholes so successfully in 2010 they not only paid zero taxes, they have a $3.2 billion tax credit to be applied in the future.

Of course the most disgusting tax break carved out by the scum on Congress is the one given to hedge fund managers, who only pay 15% tax on their gargantuan bonuses.

April 15th is coming and when you pay your dues, think of GE, and your hedge fund billionaire.....

General Electric, the nation’s largest corporation, had a very good year in 2010.

The company reported worldwide profits of $14.2 billion, and said $5.1 billion of the total came from its operations in the United States.
Its American tax bill? None. In fact, G.E. claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.
That may be hard to fathom for the millions of American business owners and households now preparing their own returns, but low taxes are nothing new for G.E. The company has been cutting the percentage of its American profits paid to the Internal Revenue Service for years, resulting in a far lower rate than at most multinational companies.
Its extraordinary success is based on an aggressive strategy that mixes fierce lobbying for tax breaks and innovative accounting that enables it to concentrate its profits offshore.

Ah Florida.....
Sorry to burden you with another Rick Scott saga, but this one is so blatant in it's corruption it truly is beyond belief. One of the Republican programs about to be rammed through the Legislature is to privatize a large part of Medicaid on the pretext it will save money. It will, but only by denying Medicaid patients needed treatments by burying them in insurance BS. Rick Scott's holdings in Solantic, $62 millions worth, will directly benefit from this program.

This bill will accomplish two things - it will drastically cut health services to the needy and poor of Florida, and it will make a lot of the "boys" rich, including our Governor.

How do these bastards sleep at night? And here's another thought - where is the Christian voice in this? Why isn't this action being denounced from pulpits in Baptist churches across Florida? Would Jesus be screwing the poor like this?

Republican governor Rick Scott's push to privatize Medicaid in Florida is highly controversial—not least because the health care business Scott handed over to his wife when he took office could reap a major profit if the legislation becomes law.
Scott and Florida Republicans are currently trying to enact a sweeping Medicaid reform bill that would give HMOs and other private health care companies unprecedented control over the government health care program for the poor. Among the companies that stand to benefit from the bill is Solantic, a chain of urgent-care clinics aimed at providing emergency services to walk-in customers. The Florida governor founded Solantic in 2001, only a few years after he resigned as the CEO of hospital giant Columbia/HCA amid a massive Medicare fraud scandal. In January, he transferred his $62 million stake in Solantic to his wife, Ann Scott, a homemaker involved in various charitable organizations.

Viral video - Baby trashes bar in Las Palmas - cute, amusing.....1 minute.....

The most controversial movie out this week is "Sucker Punch", and the headline of this review says it all....

The twisted, stupid brilliance of "Sucker Punch"

Pick of the week: Moronic trash? Subversive masterpiece? Zack Snyder's lingerie action flick is all that and more

It sounds like you will either hate it or love it, and I suspect a lot more guys than ladies will be the ones loving it.....but as they say on Fox, "we report, you decide".......

Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch" is like the Nietzschean Superman of CGI action movies. It's so far beyond good and evil as to make its morality irrelevant, and to undermine any verdicts you might render about its meaning or quality. A ridiculously ambitious and perhaps fatally flawed mashup of ideas, themes and influences, it's more like a Quentin Tarantino movie -- or more like the platonic ideal of a Tarantino movie -- than any movie Tarantino has ever personally made. I can't be sure whether it's brilliant or idiotic, although I'm pretty confident it's both, and not always in different places or at different moments.
This movie is going to be vehemently attacked as brain-damaged garbage that exemplifies everything that's wrong with today's filmmaking and today's audiences. It's also going to be vigorously defended as a subversive action-movie masterpiece that offers a big middle finger to Hollywood convention, audience expectations, and anybody and everybody who would rather watch "The King's Speech."

Todays Italian joke

A bus stops and 2 Italian men get on. They sit down and engage in an animated conversation.

The lady sitting next to them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of them say the following:

Emma come first.
Den I come.
Den two asses come together.
I come once-a-more! .
Two asses, they come together again.
I come again and pee twice.
Then I come one lasta time.'

The lady can't take this any more,

'You foul-mouthed sex obsessed pig,' she retorted indignantly. 'In this country. we don't speak aloud in public places about our sex lives.

'Hey, coola down lady,' said the man. 'Who talkin' abouta sex?  I'm a justa tellin' my frienda how to spell 'Mississippi '
